THE PLAYOFFS BEGIN

Since returning from Colorado in late August, I've been pretty apathetic about the end of the season, but today, the playoffs start, and I am excited. I'd be even more excited if the Cubs had managed to knock the Astros out of the playoffs, but I suppose that's just spiteful (or one more example of the Cubs not coming through for me this season, I'm not sure which).

Right now, I'm rooting for--I would call these my "picks", but that suggests a level of confidence I don't deserve to have--St. Louis over San Diego, Boston over the White Sox, the Angles over New York, and (this is a series where I'd like both teams to lose, but) Atlanta over the Astros.

I'm going to have to catch the audio broadcasts of the games as earlier last month the ass-hats at Fox Sports finally sent me over the edge, and I've decided to boycott the station in its entirety. It's a bummer that I won't get to "see" the games, but at least I know Joe Buck won't send me into a blind-red rage of anger and hatred. There's always that.
