RE: TODAY'S CUBS GAME: 5 - 8
It was a good game, even if I did feel like throwing things by the end of the eighth. The Pirates showed great spirit, battling back every time the Cubs scored and then taking the final lead in the eighth. And their announcers were so congenial.
I know it's way too early to start whining, but I'm frustrated and want to know when Aramis Ramirez and Nomar Garciaparra are going to start showing up at the plate. I look at these two guys as the core whose momentum (or in this case, lack there of) feeds the rest of the lineup. But instead of leading the charge, Nomar is slumping hard, batting only .158 (and after an absolutely phenomenal spring) and I have yet to see Aramis come through in the clutch (last year he was my favorite player because he always got the hit we needed; tonight he had bases loaded and struck out). I know its early, two weeks into the season is hardly the time to be hollering that the sky is falling, but still, get it in gear!
