I'M A CUBBIE, HEAR ME ROAR
That line sounds better when Michelle Pfeifer purrs it, but it fits perfectly with yesterday's shocking and slightly surreal win by the Cubs over Florida. I think the final score was 500 to 3, or something ridiculous like that. No, I know that it was a mere 11-run spread, but it might as well have been three digits.
I'm particularly pleased that erstwhile World Series superstar Josh Beckett was the losing pitcher, and that the humiliation of his loss occured long after Derek Lee smacked his 200th homer (first inning glee, anyone?).

Josh Beckett, I believe, is still dating Leeann Tweeden. For this alone, he earns my everlasting hatred.

I had so much fun with this game. Everyone seemed relaxed and like they might actually enjoy playing / watching baseball. What a contrast to the rest of the season.
My favorite line of the game came from Ron Santo. It was around the seventh inning and Andy was trying to interact with Ron (y'know, do their job as broadcasters) and Ron says, "After I eat this chicken, I'll be right back."
