TODAY'S GIANTS GAME: 11 - 3

I don't mean to begrudge my Giants a win, but their squashing of the Diamondbacks today is directly attributable to the Cloud of Doom that's recently squatted over Arizona's bullpen. Diamondbacks burned through 6 pitchers, which is reminescent of Felipe Alou's tactics with his own beleaguered bullpen in May. Schmidt still didn't perform very well, allowing 9 hits and 3 runs in 6 innings. Not Cy Young electric, if you ask me. All told, these two middlin' teams used 9 pitchers. I hope they fare better when summer trading season is in full swing.

Anyway, I don't want to be a complete jerk about this uninspiring clobbering, so...go Giants! (Talk to me again at the end of the series, when I might display some genuine enthusiasm.)
