ON A LIGHTER NOTE...
The Cubs and Nationals won their series without sweeps. The Cubs' win was a little sweeter since they earned it from their interleague nemeses on the southside of Chicago (Welcome back, Mark Prior! We love you!). The Nationals predictably took their series from the weak Blue Jays, although Toronto gave them a run for their money today by winning the final game 9-5.
This weeks sees the Giants against the Diamondbacks. I don't really care how that goes. The Cubs and the Brewers are always an interesting mix, so that could yield juicy drama. Pittsburgh is in bad shape so the Nationals may walk away with the series, if not with a sweep, particularly since they do so well at RFK. Depends on how well rested Frank Robinson's awesome bullpen is.
No baseball worth noting on Monday. Tuesday it all begins again.
