TODAY'S CUBS GAME: 1 - 2

I love the Angry Baby Giant™, and tonight's game pissed me off. Zambrano was brilliant, throwing nine complete innings, giving up only one run, and even getting two hits. But do the bats help him out? Nope. So after throwing an effective complete game, Zambrano leaves with no decision. And this is not the first time, either. In the game I went to in LA, he threw eight innings, gave up one run (and only one hit) and again did not get the decision (the only difference, the Cubs did go on to win that game). And now that my anger is getting good and hot, I've discovered game-by-game stats for Carlos Zambrano and here's a couple more: May 21, 7 innings pitched, o runs, 1 hits = no decision; June 3, 7 innings pitched, 2 runs = no decision.

And what's the deal with the Cubs amazing inability to drive in the runner from third when there's only 1 out? I couldn't figure out how to pull the exact stat (which hasn't improved my mood any) but I know its absolutely horrendous! Anybody ever heard of "small ball?" Argh!

  • I think the Cubbies took your small ball challenge in the bottom of the 9th last night. Sweet.
