SOMEBODY PINCH ME (AGAIN, COZ I LIKES IT)

Since this is dream fantasy day, it's only fitting that the Cubs in the top of the 9th are beating the feisty Marlins—again. Score? 4-2.

I refuse to get all cocky about this or the Giants' win until I see some proof of consistency. Then, I'll be an annoying fan who won't shut up about how great his teams are.

Kerry Wood, infused with the magic of this fantasy land through which I've spent my day frolicking, pitched 7.2 innings, allowing only 6 hits and 2 runs. Of course, I can't yet watch it because of MLB's venal weekend blackout bullshit. I'll probably watch those first 7 innings later, when it's available in archive. I'm hungry to see Wood do good. Hey, that rhymes!

[Update] Now, I know I'm in an alternate universe where cool shit happens all day long, no bills arrive in the mail, no one calls with bad news, my dogs speak fluent English, my hair looks great, my ass is pert, and the Cubs can be said to have clobbered a [probably] better team. And you can't argue that this is a fantasy world I inhabit because one of the runs came from the Angry Baby Giant™ himself, pinch (there's that word again...see?) running in the 9th. From what Phillip K. Dick novel did that possibility emerge? Final score? 8-2.
