GIANTS AND NATIONALS: MILES APART YET SO CLOSE

Nationals lost their last two against the Diamondbacks, who just seemed to peek under the National's hood and say, "Ahhh, I get how this works." D.C. is starting to feel the pressure they're putting on regular players while Vidro, Guzman, Eischen, and Beltran fill out the DL. But these losses aren't really a big deal. The Diamondbacks are good, and they've been waiting for a chance to reclaim games they lost to the Nationals before.

The Giants lost their last two to the Pirates (say what?) in yet more examples of San Francisco's inability to pitch nine whole innings and resist runs late in the game. It's starting to bore me (I know, I'm a baaaaaad fan). Pity that, because if MLB suddenly changed the game to be only, oh, six innings in length, the Giants would rock. Durham just returned from having the flu, J.T. Snow feels worse with the flu today. And our bullpen still sucks.

Man, oh, man, do I miss Barry Bonds.
